Cambridge IGCSE Psychology 0266

Online Tuition

Cambridge's new Psychology syllabus, first examined in 2027, is designed so that over half the marks reward Application - using theories, studies and research methods in unfamiliar situations, not just recalling them. We tutor 0266 to exactly how it's marked.

How we teach Cambridge IGCSE Psychology at Tuition Highway

A simple four-step approach designed to build confidence, close gaps and improve exam performance.

01

Confirm the route

We confirm the syllabus code, exam series and paper route for 0266. Everything else depends on this.

02

Find the gaps

A diagnostic against the syllabus topics tells us what's secure and what isn't, so we teach the gaps rather than the whole book.

03

Teach weekly, one to one

The same tutor teaches each week around school. Concepts build step by step, with the school's pace kept in view.

04

Practise like the exam

Past-paper questions begin early, followed by full timed papers marked against the published mark scheme.

Matched with a tutor who knows this syllabus

Expert, vetted Cambridge IGCSE Psychology tutors who have taught the 0266 specification. Past-paper work is reviewed against published mark schemes, so your child can see where marks are awarded and where they are being lost. UK-qualified teachers are available on request as a premium option.

Not "cambridge igcse psychology in general" - this syllabus, this tier and these papers.

Reviews work against the mark scheme

Your child learns where the marks actually are, not where they feel they should be.

Built for online teaching

Shared whiteboard, worked solutions and lesson materials saved to review after the session.

Consistent across the term

The same tutor every week - and if that changes, we tell you first.

The 0266 papers your child actually sits

Cambridge IGCSE Psychology (0266) is the new syllabus for first examination in 2027. It is assessed by two externally-marked papers, each covering three topics plus a research-methods section, and both are dominated by Application.

New syllabus with first exams in 2027. Past papers do not yet exist, so specimen-paper technique and exact command-word handling matter more than usual.

What the Psychology syllabus covers

These are the main syllabus strands your child is expected to cover. We teach all of them, starting with the gaps that are costing marks first.

Tuition stays aligned to the exact paper or unit structure, so revision time goes where the marks actually move.

Questions parents ask about Cambridge IGCSE Psychology

Is 0266 a new syllabus?+

Yes. Cambridge IGCSE Psychology 0266 is examined for the first time in 2027. Up-to-date, specimen-based preparation matters because past papers do not exist yet.

Which papers does my child sit?+

Two: Paper 1 (90 marks, 53%) covering memory, sleep and dreams, prosocial behaviour and experimental methods; and Paper 2 (80 marks, 47%) covering visual perception, motivation, language development and non-experimental methods.

Why is application emphasised so much?+

Because Application is 51% of the marks. The exam is built around applying psychology to new, often unfamiliar scenarios, not just recalling theories and studies.

How is it graded?+

Cambridge IGCSE Psychology is graded A* to G, with A* the highest.

Is the syllabus available everywhere?+

Availability varies by administrative zone and series, so it is worth checking the syllabus page for where your child sits. We can help you confirm.

Does my child need to evaluate the named studies?+

No. For the topic studies they need the results and conclusions to support a theory, but are not asked for strengths and weaknesses. Evaluation is focused on research methods.

What if the tutor isn't the right fit?+

We replace them - free, and with no argument - and hand over the syllabus progress and known concerns so the new tutor continues seamlessly.

Can you help us choose between Cambridge and Edexcel Psychology?+

Yes, though Edexcel offers Psychology at International A-level, not International GCSE. At IGCSE, Cambridge 0266 is the international route.
