Edexcel International GCSE Physics 4PH1
Online Tuition
Two written papers, graded 9 to 1, with a two-hour Paper 1 carrying most of the grade and no separate practical exam - so experimental skills must be shown in writing. We tutor 4PH1 to how it's actually split and marked, calculations and all.
How we teach Edexcel International GCSE Physics at Tuition Highway
A simple four-step approach designed to build confidence, close gaps and improve exam performance.
Confirm the route
We confirm the syllabus code, exam series and paper route for 4PH1. Everything else depends on this.
Find the gaps
A diagnostic against the syllabus topics tells us what's secure and what isn't, so we teach the gaps rather than the whole book.
Teach weekly, one to one
The same tutor teaches each week around school. Concepts build step by step, with the school's pace kept in view.
Practise like the exam
Past-paper questions begin early, followed by full timed papers marked against the published mark scheme.
Matched with a tutor who knows this syllabus
Expert, vetted Edexcel International GCSE Physics tutors who have taught the 4PH1 specification. Past-paper work is reviewed against published mark schemes, so your child can see where marks are awarded and where they are being lost. UK-qualified teachers are available on request as a premium option.

Questions parents ask about Edexcel International GCSE Physics
How is Edexcel International GCSE Physics assessed?+-
Two written papers, graded 9 to 1: Paper 1 (two hours, 110 marks, 61.1%) and Paper 2 (1 hour 15 minutes, 70 marks, 38.9%).
Is there a practical exam?+-
No. There's no separate practical, but around 20% of the marks assess experimental skills and understanding within the written papers, so practical knowledge still has to be demonstrated in writing.
How is it graded?+-
On the 9 to 1 scale, with 9 the highest.
Is a calculator allowed?+-
Yes. A calculator may be used in the examinations.
Which topics are covered?+-
Eight: forces and motion; electricity; waves; energy resources and transfers; solids, liquids and gases; magnetism and electromagnetism; radioactivity and particles; and astrophysics.
When are the exams?+-
In the January and June series.
Is this tiered like some other qualifications?+-
No. 4PH1 is untiered; all candidates sit the same two papers across the full 9 to 1 grade range.
What if the tutor isn't the right fit?+-
We replace them - free, and with no argument - and hand over the syllabus progress and known concerns so the new tutor continues seamlessly.
