Physics Cambridge A‑level 9702 Tuition

Cambridge A-level

Five papers in one series, and a two-hour practical exam most revision plans quietly ignore. We tutor the full 9702 assessment - theory, calculation and the Advanced Practical Skills your child sits at the bench - not physics in the abstract.

How we teach Cambridge A‑level Physics at Tuition Highway

A simple four-step approach designed to build confidence, close gaps and improve exam performance.

01

Confirm the route

We confirm the syllabus code, exam series and paper route for 9702. Everything else depends on this.

02

Find the gaps

A diagnostic against the syllabus topics tells us what's secure and what isn't, so we teach the gaps rather than the whole book.

03

Teach weekly, one to one

The same tutor teaches each week around school. Concepts build step by step, with the school's pace kept in view.

04

Practise like the exam

Past-paper questions begin early, followed by full timed papers marked against the published mark scheme.

Matched with a tutor who knows this syllabus

Expert, vetted Cambridge A-level Physics tutors who have taught the 9702 specification. Past-paper work is reviewed against published mark schemes, so your child can see where marks are awarded and where they are being lost. UK-qualified teachers are available on request as a premium option.

Taught 9702

Not "cambridge A-level physics in general" - this syllabus, this tier and these papers.

Reviews work against the mark scheme

Your child learns where the marks actually are, not where they feel they should be.

Built for online teaching

Shared whiteboard, worked solutions and lesson materials saved to review after the session.

Consistent across the term

The same tutor every week - and if that changes, we tell you first.

The 9702 papers your child actually sits

Cambridge A-level Physics is assessed across five externally-marked papers taken together in one series. Two of them - Papers 3 and 5 - assess practical skills, and Paper 3 is a real timed experiment carried out at the bench.

What the Physics syllabus covers

These are the main syllabus strands your child is expected to cover. We teach all of them, starting with the gaps that are costing marks first.

Tuition stays aligned to the exact paper or unit structure, so revision time goes where the marks actually move.

Questions parents ask about Cambridge A‑level Physics

Which papers does my child sit for Cambridge A-level Physics?+

Five papers: Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3, Paper 4 and Paper 5, normally taken together in one series.

Is Cambridge A-level Physics modular like Edexcel?+

No. Cambridge is effectively linear, without banking individual papers across sessions the way Edexcel allows.

How is the practical assessed?+

Through two papers. Paper 3 is a genuine two-hour practical exam at the bench, and Paper 5 tests planning, analysis and evaluation on paper.

How is it graded?+

The full A-level is graded A* to E. AS Level, if certificated separately, is graded a to e.

When are the exams?+

Cambridge runs June and November series, with an additional March series in India.

Can my child use a calculator?+

Yes. A calculator is allowed, and a list of data and formulae is provided.

What if the tutor isn't the right fit?+

We replace them - free, and with no argument - and hand over the syllabus progress and known concerns so the new tutor continues seamlessly.

Can you help us choose between Cambridge and Edexcel Physics?+

Yes. The core physics overlaps heavily; the real difference is structure - Cambridge's papers-together model with a live lab exam, versus Edexcel's modular, bankable units with written practical papers.
